Today while checking the event viewer I came through this error:

Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab at: http://www.download.windowsupdate.co...uthrootstl.cab with error: A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.

As stated there I tried running windows update and downloading the latest root certificate package but that dint helped and still facing that error. Do you guys have any working solution for this? Thanks for all your helps.

To me it clearly seems to be the problem with certificate. Did you checked the Windows Update logs? What is mentioned over there?

Hey guys, I have been through this problem couple of months ago. Though I dint found the permanent solution for this but here’s what I did to get rid of the same. I open Control panel, went to Add/Remove programs , opened Add/Remove Windows programs. Here you need to uncheck "Update root certificates" . restart the computer and hopefully you wont get that error again for next few months.
