The Kerberos subsystems encountered a PAC verification error

I am receing the following error Event ID 7 "The kerberos subsystem
encountered a PAC verification failure. I found article 88326 regarding
this issue and ran the steps that they recommend. All services are fine
with the exception of KDCSVC. When I enter the command Sc query KDCSVC I
    reveive the following message:

    OpenService Failed 1060:
The specified service does not exsist as an installed service

I could not find any information regarding this issue. What issues does
this cause and how do you go about resolving this error message.

I think you meant 883268. It looks like the instructions are wrong. I'll
    contact the author.

On my Windows Server 2003 KDC the service name is KDC. I get the same error
    as you do with KDCSVC.

Use "SC query" to get a list of services.
Use "SC query KDC" to find out the status of the KDC service (You need to
run on the DC). The state should be running. If your KDC was down then you
would have logon issues which agrees with the error. Sounds like your secure
channel to the DC is down.

This is a good resource for many Kerberos errors.
