Unable to log on because of an account restriction

I was attempting to turn on the automatic log on function in XP. At run I
entered "contol userpasswords2", cleared the "users must enter a user name
and password to use this" and without paying attention I entered a password
for Account Administrator, although I log on as TC (an administrator) I
clicked apply, OK etc. When I tried to restart Welcome TC comes up and a box
to enter a password, even though I enter the password that I inadvertenly
assigned to "Administrator" I get msg that says unable to log on because of
an account restriction. Somewhere in the melee before this I eleminated the
    TC account.

When I hard reboot, I cannot access the setup menu, I cannot boot into safe
mode or anything else. It just goes to the log in screen. I booted up using
Norton Ghost CD get into the recovery environment, but when I try to use the
recovery wizard it cannot find a restore point. I can access the files on
the computer, but haven't a clue about which ones to change etc. I'd really
appreciate some expert help on this

    Thanks in advance

    TC

Re: Unable to log on because of an account restriction

Thanks for your response. The thing is, I can't boot into safe mode, no
matter how frantically (and I'm pretty frantic at this point) I press F8. I
never see the POST screen or anything others than the Microsoft WinXP opening
screen ie the one with the little lites proceeding from left to right under
the word WindowsXP. So the issue is how do I get into safe mode at this point
