Windows Defender failed to initialize??

Hi - Happy new year

Each time a turn on my laptop I get this message in a box

Windows Defender (box title)

Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused Windows
Defender Service to stop. To start the service restart your computer or
search Help and Support on how to start manually.

I have rebooted a number of time and still the message pops ups.

What is going on and does anyone know how to fix this.

May thanks

Re: Windows Defender failed to initialize??

Hi Shenan

No ??

Background is I am an access programmer and am working on a touch-screen
application. I downloaded the driver for the touch-screen and just after
this (on re-boot) I started to get the warning. It "may" be just coincidence
but ???.

It is possible to download the latest version to fix this - a link would be
really helpful if you have time
