CCsvchost.exe?

When I shut down my computer,I am getting a error message about something
called CCsvchost.exc -Something that the memory could not be read.

I am wondering if this is something from Norton internet security 2007- I
have reinstalled Norton Inrternet Security 4 times,& I am still having
problems with this message.

Contacted Symantec with no luck.

I am running Windows Xp / Sp2 with all windows updates installed.

cvshost is a service of the OS which controls many different services on the
system. About fourty five of them. It is very difficult to be able to give
proper assistance without knowing more about the error. Go into your event
viewer and click on any item with the cvshost on it and see if you can attain
further error details. Then come back here, list these errors, any error
number would be great, and the specifics of your system like manufacturer,
processer, memory, etc. I am not really experianced but others here are and
if you provide more details they will be able to assist you much better.
Access event view by going to Start-All Programs-Administrative Tools-Event
Viewer. There are system events, security events and application events, you
want the events on system. So, click system and the system events will appear
to the right. Try to remember as closely as you can the last time the error
occurred and then go to events around that period. Double click on the event
heading and a dialog box will open up with much more details. There will also
be a link inside the middle box under "desription" to the more comprehensive
help online. Click that link and see what it says about the eror and write it
down to report here.

Since you misspelled ".exe", I'm going to guess that you didn't
transcribe the name of the program causing the problem accurately. Post
back with the *exact* wording of the error message. Type carefully so
you can get a good answer.

Since the real process is svchost.exe, it doesn't give me a good feeling
about the depth of your tech knowledge when you call it "cvshost".

In any case, we can't do anything further unless the OP comes back with
the answer to my question.

I am new to this forum and can't seem to find a way to post a NEW
thread relevant to this Ccsvchost thing.... so here goes, maybe this
can be picked up by someone who can help.

When I shut down, I get that same message about the Ccsvchost. I
looked at the event viewer and either I don't know WHAT I'm looking for
or else there isn't anything relevant to this there. It just says there
that it is started up. Hmmm,

The reference numbers on the error message a
0x0144904F and 0xc6000200 memory could not be written.

Can you help from this?????

You are posting to a "forum" that is a frontend for Usenet posts. I have
no idea why you can't make a new post at PCBanter. You would need to
read their Help files or contact their webmaster.

Most people access Usenet directly with a newsreader. I'll give you

Your issue is with a Norton file so you need to contact Symantec tech
support for help with their products.
