Windows Defender not updating error 0x8024002b

I installed the latest version of defender and cannot do an update , I
keep on getting an error 0x8024002b. This means nothing, has anyone had
this problem and how to resolve. I previosly used Microsoft AntiSpyware
and had no problems updating etc. Does the p[rogram maybe use a
different protocol for updates or ports?

Hello.
Microsoft Windows Defender is beta product.
BETA means the software is not finished and it is in bug-checking state
however Defender does have bugs in it
B E T A

Try
Another

Unless you are paid to keep it , remove it immediately.
Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs
find Windows Defender and uninstall
Then reboot and manually delete the folder called "Windows Defender" in
C:\Program files

I had the same issue. I assume you tried to update directly from the
Microsoft Anti-Spyware to Windows Defender, if so, my solution was to
completely uninstall Anti-Spyware/Defender and do a clean install. Worked
fine for me after that.

I have found that i will get this error for many days in a row and then
finally the stars will align themselves and it will update again. I have also
been successful after trying a few times to update. MS AntiSpyware worked
better.
