What are the benefit of working on windows network

I want to get some knowledge in the advantages of networking in Windows environment. I have done my hardware and software courses from a small institute called saintangelos. I have still yet to learn the networking field and hence I would like to know whether it will benefit us or not in the long run. Thanks for any replies.

There are many advantages of using a networking, such as:

1. Ability to share expensive peripherals such as laser printers, modem, fax, etc on a network with other computer
2. Ability to share large amounts of information through various programs, databases, etc.., So that it is easier to use and update.
3. Reduces and even eliminates duplication of work.
4. Allows us to send or receive email messages from different users on the same network and even different networks.

There are 2 types of internet connections that you can use now a days to surf the net. First by choosing a LAN connection, which is often wired, it is possible to share the PC's including programs, data, resources, among other computer on the same network. For the second one, the WAN, which is a wireless internet connection, can use specialized software to include mini and mainframe network elements. The WAN is not limited to geographical space to communicate between PC's or mini or mainframe. You can even use satellite links, fiber optics, infrared devices and links to connect to devices that support wan.
