    Re: Can’t Open Bitlocker Drive

Hi, thanks for the update. From the result, we can find that the volume is locked and in that the operation cannot be performed because the volume is locked. I suggest you use the command to unlock it first. Below is my example on how to unlock the encrypted drive C: \ Windows \ system32> cscript manage-bde.wsf unlock-D:-RecoveryPassword 663476-6 75928-162613-019481-087318-052591-699325-060225 Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.8 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. WARNING: The script manage-bde.wsf is not supported. Please use manage-bde.exe. The password successfully unlocked volume D:use manage-bde.exe. And in the recovery password is saved to a file or printed before encrypting the drive. In my example: BitLocker Drive Encryption Key RecoveryThe recovery key is used to recover the data on a BitLocker-protected drive. To verify that this is the correct recovery key compare the identification with what is presented on the recovery screen. Recovery key identification: E4ABFD19-C813-46 Full recovery key identification: E4ABFD19-C813-46FF-AFBD-3834E50EB398 so if you want then you can try this.

I suggest you first try the following steps:
    1. Click Start, type "cmd" in "Search programs and files.
    2. Right click on "cmd.exe" icon and choose "Run as Administrator".
    3. Type the following command to check the status in command prompt window.
    Cscript C:\windows\system32\manage-bde.wsf –status
    4. Then, you can use the following command:
Cscript C:\windows\system32\manage-bde.wsf –off D: (where D refer to the partition, you want to decrypt.) If you encounter any problem during the procedure, please let me know.

You can ignore this message. This message also occurs in my example. Have you tried the steps above? Did you receive any other error or confirmation? After this, it should prompt you "The password successfully unlocked volume D:." "Decryption is now in progress." or other error message. So if any suggestion for me then please help me.

It seems that you can use the command successfully. However, from the latest log, there is little useful information for us to continue this troubleshooting. Do you mean there isn't detail information after entering all the commands? Have you found the recovery key like what I listed in my example which I have given on to the other forum site?

You can check out the this link with video instructions on unlocking and locking the WD Smartware drive. Keep in mind that if your password was forgotten there is no other way to access the drive unless you choose drive erase which will erase all existing data on the drive.
