Security essentials or Windows defender

Being alittle slow today but what is the basic difference between Windows
Defender and Security essentials?

Windows Defender was an Anti-Spyware programme.

MSE is a full Anti-Malware programme (including Anti-virus)

MSE includes Defender as its anti-spyware component. Installing MSE should
disable Defender (in Vista & Win7) and remove Defender (in WinXP).

MSE also includes an anti-virus component. Defender is NOT an anti-virus
application.

Their intention.

Defender was intended to address a specific class of malware, and MSE is
intended to address a more broad spectrum of malware.

Most purist types will opt for several "best of class" detectors rather
than a broad spectrum suite that is often only mediocre in all classes.

BoaterDave is to be ignored. He is a troll and just because his post was not considered
by you to be a troll post (in this thread), does not change the fact the BoaterDave is
indeed a Usenet Troll.

In fact he is trolling the alt.* hierarchy, the microsoft.* hierachy and has even pissed
off the the professional troll filled group at 24hs.hd

He has also begun to cross the line in creating anti semtic posts such as one enitled
"Support the Jews!"
which is nothing but a post for Bose URL with the text "Pity the poor !" and "No doubt
claimed as a business expense!".

I am actually laughing at a thread he started where is telling people to deliberately
launch a known phishing URL.

Then there is his calling reputable people terrorists while supporting such disreputable
people like PCBUTTS1.

You may call my post annoying but it wasn't trolling. BoaterDave is not someone anyone
should be getting answers to questions on security or security related software questions.
