Win7 Home Premium 64 bit and Security Essentials

I am having difficulties getting Security Essentials to download the
(apparently) enormous signature file. It never finishes downloading over my
dialup connection before the MS server times out. Is there a way to
download the sig file another way?

Which definitions do I need, 32-bit or 64-bit?

Install the latest Microsoft Security Essentials definition updates
