| Invalid Product Key Error
I am helping a freind with some pc issues. She needed a system restore due to many virus issues. When doing the restore I got an invalid product key is invalid. When I was talking with her she is not 100% that this restore disk goes to this pc. This desktop had Windows XP I am guess the Home edition but not 100% sure. The desktop does have a Produc key on it and that is the one I am using. She seems to recall someone needing to fix this PC before and using another restore disk. At this point I am at a loss in what to do. I have OEM windows XP Home edtion disk but appartenly not the one that works with this key. Help |

Help Is the system up and running now and giving the 'product key invalid' message? Is there a sticker on the machine with the proper product key? The Genuine Advantage Product Key Update Tool is only valid for users attempting to change their current non-genuine Product Key to a genuine COA sticker or genuine Product Key - all without a reinstall! http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Link...46&clcid=0x409 -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |
