Do you happen to be using Windowblinds or a custom Windows theme? If so, switch back to the default Windows one and see if that helps.. I am getting exactly the same problem with 14.0.8064.206 AppName: wlcomm.exe AppVer: 14.0.8064.206 ModName: kernel32.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.5512 Offset: 00032297 Exception Information: Code: 0xc0000005 I'm having the same problem on my PC. I switched the Windows theme back to the default, but it made no difference. I am using the ZoneAlarm Security Suite... |

| Re: Messenger 14.0.8050.1202 Stopped Working
Hi Jonathan, After installing the new windows live messenger I am getting the following error while trying to logon Faulting application wlcomm.exe, version 14.0.8050.1202, time stamp 0x49361481, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00000000, process id 0xbb8, application start time 0x01c97363b5fcca1f. The error is recorded in the event log and messenger does not display any errors, it simply returns to the logon screen. I already sent the problem report, the OS is Windows 2008/32 |

I'm also unable to login to Windows Live Messenger. I tried reinstalling multiple times, tried the Regedit fix, renaming and deleting the MSN Messenger folder, scanned my ports (all hidden), scanned for viruses (none found), UPnP enabled on D-Link router and I'm using the default Windows XP theme but nothing works. When I check the Event Viewer, this is what it shows when Windows Live Messenger crashes the first time I try logging in after launching it: "Faulting application wlcomm.exe, version 14.0.8064.206, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, fault address 0x000113a0." Then it will just trying logging in and stops. Though, it is able to recognize an incorrect password so there's a definite connection to the servers. Any suggestions Windows XP SP3 AVG Last edited by RoswellFreak : 27-03-2009 at 06:59 AM. |

| Re: Messenger 14.0.8050.1202 Stopped Working
Just wanted to add that I've tried logging in to Web Messenger and then try Windows Live Messenger 9 and Web Messenger does detect me trying to log in as it disconnects me from Web Messenger, saying that I've been logging out from another location. I also noticed that when I run the connection troubleshooter, it gets stuck on Key Ports and pretty much freezes there. I tried port forwarding port 88, 443 and 1863 on TCP and UDP but no luck.... so I'm just fresh out of ideas... HELP!!!!! |
