xp audio device problem

xp audio device problem

i have a problem in installing the audio device driver from my motherboard cd
i.e my O.S. does not take in the driver whereas it in took all the other drivers
i have dual O.S. (VISTA & XP) the same audio driver was taken in by VISTA
plz help my motherboard is INTEL D-31 EXPRESS CHIPSET
I am very much in problem due to this !!!
so plz help

Usually it is my experience that Vista and XP do not use the same
drivers. Check below for a Audio Driver

i tried but it is giving me an error!!!!
it is telling me
"INSTALL REALTEK HD AUDIO DRIVER FAILURE
Error Code:0xE0000227"
plz help me!!!!

I am getting error message as "there is problem in your audio device or it is
not installed properly.

XP audio device problem

No sound on my computer. I've gone to Control Panel ... Sound and Audio Devices ... then to Audio to change the default sound playback device. There is only one device shown - "modem #0 Line Playback". It will not allow me to change it to my SoundMax digital audio driver. The SoundMax device is enabled. Please offer some suggestions to fix the problem.
