| How to make Explorer show files in Details view
After I set one directory to the Details view, I go to Tools/Folder Options/View and click on the Like Current Folder. Problem is that it doesn't force Details as the default view for all folders the next time I open Explorer. The directories I manually set to Details remember that view, but the others remain in the default Large Icons view. Suggestions? Thanks, Ray |

If checked, try unchecking "Remember each folders view settings". W2k doesn't have a box to uncheck. So I clicked on Reset All Folders (to the factory defaults); all folders then appeared as Large Icons. I set one to Details and clicked on Like Current Folder. At first, that seemed to set all the folders to Details as the default. But when I went to some folders that I don't use often, they still appear as Large Icons. So the ones that appeared in Details, where in fact those that I had manually set some time ago. So I'm back where I started. Control Panel/Folder Options/View: Uncheck box that says "Remember each folder's view settings." Ray K wrote: > W2k doesn't have a box to uncheck.
