Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO

Whenever I start any application in my system I am getting a error Event ID 1000. It is happening to everything. I am not able to get proper solution for the same. I checked the system properly there are no recent changes done to the system. I found the following information in Event Viewer.
    • Sources: UserEvn
    • Event ID:1000
    • User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
    • Category:none

My system is not able to query GPO. What should I do to fix the issues. Thanks.

The cause of this error is due to corrupt domain controller policy object. You can fix that by restoring the default domain policies. I found a link that has detailed information on the steps through which you can restore stuff back again.

Event ID 1000 is logged on Windows 2000 domain controllers
