How to promote additional domain controller to domain controller

I need some help by which I can try promoting my additional domain controller to other one. I am not able to find right settings for the same. I am sure there are some kind of proper commands available that can offer me to do the configuration. I am trying to locate the same in documentation but yet not able to locate right solution for it.

Does there is any DC in the domain or forest. You will need one domain to perform this process. And if anything went wrong and you loose the domain you might lost all the domains which are in the forest below it. Run cmd and then try to locate the nic ip properties so that you can locate the right records of domain. Check that you are not getting any kind of problem at all.

To do that you can use DCPROMO, There are number of different options available in that. You can start with new DC or simply works with the one which already exist in the forest. It is recommended to install additional domain only if there is any existing DC available in your system. I hope that you take the backup properly before going for any changes. Because that can be problematic if not done carefully.
