Task Scheduler Error Setting Task Account Information

When I try to schedule a task, when I complete the Tasks dialog, I get the
message, "An error has occurred while attempting to set task account
information. The specific error is 0x80004005: Unspecified error". The
UserId/Password combination entered is correct, and the UserID belongs to the
Group "Administrators". Any ideas on how to diagnose/fix this problem?

Re: Task Scheduler Error Setting Task Account Information

Have you tried another (new) user account that is a member of the local
administrator group?

Re: Task Scheduler Error Setting Task AccountInformation - Patrick question

If a new, valid, user account works, but no old, valid user account work, what does that mean, and what's the remedy?

Re: Task Scheduler Error Setting Task Account Information - Patrick question

I'd start with deleting the corrupt user profile.
