How to remove notification icons from Windows 2000

I am having a tons of icons which are listed in the notification area of my system. There are many unwanted icons and I want to get rid of them all. I cannot find any option in Windows 2000 to fix the same. I had checked them all. There are many unwanted icons. Is there anyone who knows the process to get rid of unwanted icons from it. Thanks.

To fix the same you have to go in Administrative Tool located inside Control Panel. There look for Computer Management and then click on System information. Location Software Environment > Startup > Program > Advance. There you can find a column named as location. You can locate the startup path of all programs that load when you start the system. You have to them go in the said place and remove those program shortcuts. The default location that I know are:
    • %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
    • %USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

After that run a registry cleaner to wipe out pending entries.
