Ghost image - IDE Hard drive to SATA hard drive

I have an image of Windows 2000 Pro SP4 that is working perfectly on an
IDE hard drive. As soon as I transfer it over to a SATA hard drive, I
get a blue screen upon windows boot up. So I booted to the IDE hard
drive again and did some investigating.

What I noticed is that, although in device manager it says that I have
"Serial
ATA" storage controller drivers installed, windows disk manager shows
that my SATA hard drives only show up to a max of 128 GB... in
actuality, they are 500+ GB. So I'm thinking I don't have the right
SATA drivers...

Please help!

You need to run a repair installation of win using the F6 option to install
sata drivers from floppy.
You also need to ensure that the bios supports this hd size

I'm assuming the SATA interface is part of the motherboard chipset, so
you have to enable 48-bit LBA access by sticking EnableBigLba in the
registry as described in 48-Bit LBA Support for ATAPI Disk Drives in
Windows 2000 <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305098/en-us>.
