Change AD user password via LDAP - requires SSL Connection?

I need some help to make a java code that can allow me to modify the user password of active directory. I am on the SSL connection. I cannot allow any access without that. It looks to be a complicated job but I am sure that it is possible. I need some help on the same to understand how this is going to work well. Thanks.

I think you must try to find information on web for that. No one can provide you a ready script. Even if you got one, then there will be problem with configuration. You can face errors on the launch or other stuff. You have to check the minimum level of LDAP encryption to configure the script properly on the server.

Hi, I saw Paul's reply that port 636 using a SSL connection was required for a java process to change a user's password. A follow-up question to this is- does the AD server have to have a SSL certificate to accomplish this connection?
