    0xc0000142 Application Failed to Initialize

I am facing issue with Dell PowerEdge 1750 Server. It is having a 2GB RAM in it. I am using Windows 2000 on the same with SQL. Both are SP4. I had updated Windows and it looks that the server is working fine. When I try run any application on cmd.exe I am getting failed initialize error. The error code is -- 0xc0000142. I am trying to locate some helpful information on the same, but yet no details are found.

It looks like a issue with file permission. Try to do the same in admin account. I am sure the problem lies with low permission. Due to that the application fails to launch. I also want to know that you can able to access that through gui mode also.

This a common error. Try to run .net update and then check back. If the update state does not work then the other important issue lies with permission. You must allow the admin to run the file. I had seen some helpful articles which defines the error is related to low file permission. Try to test that first in admin account and then check back.

Problem - not able to install any programs. - click the exe file and error 0xc0000142 is immediate. I used event viewer which indicated pop up stop. Turn firewall off and no more problems. Firewall thinks installation page is simply a pop up. doggus
