Enable external usb storage in WIndows server 2003 & 2008

No external storage is getting detected in my system. I need some help to enable that. I had upgraded from Server 2003 to 2008. I found a registry key setup on web. It was around modifying the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor\start - 4 to 3. But this did not worked. Any other way available by which I can fix the same. Thanks.

I am bit confused to understand what you are asking. Do you want to add external storage space in your server or you are asking to enable plug and paly service. You must mention that in detail to get proper. Windows server has many settings related to number of different things. If external storage is disabled then you can enabled that back again. Just search on web about enabling usb ports in Windows Server. That's all. You will find proper resources on the same.

please help me out as i am facing an issue regarding the USB hard disk not being detected on any of the servers under me.(Windows Server 2003 -SP2).
not seen even in the device manager.
