| Opera 9.5 RC available, final version imminent
While Firefox 3 will be finalized after the release of a second RC last week (see our brief Firefox 3.0 goes RC2, the final soon), it also moves the side to the browser Opera, which also passes the stage of the Release Candidate for its next version 9.5. Jon von Tetzchner, Opera's chairman, will even issue a press release announcing the imminent exit ( "very soon") of the final version.
Remember that Opera 9.5 offers some improvements to alternative browser such as better integration into the interface of the operating system (including Mac OS X), a new rendering engine improving the care of CSS 3, synchronization of bookmarks online, a new engine Javascript compatible ECMA Script 4, performance revised upwards (Opera is already known for its rapid display pages), or even a few features of accessibility as a player mode screen ( Non-visual). Other new features include an address bar recast to find any word in a web page visited before, and better integration with Opera Mini, the mobile version of the browser. The RC Opera 9.5 can be downloaded from the website. However, keep in mind that even if it is a Release Candidate, ie a version that can be final, it is recommended to use the latest stable to date (9.2) on a daily basis.
