Call of Duty 4 may have only just come out & Call of Duty 5 is in the pipeline

    Call of Duty 5 Revealed

Speaking during a conference call yesterday, Activision Publishing CEO and president Mike Griffith dropped a few tantalizing details about the next Call of Duty game.Call of Duty 5 will be officially titled Call of Duty: World at War and will indeed take place in the previously rumoured Pacific theatre of World War II.

It will feature co-op for the first time in the series and is heading to PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, according to the first details

vehicles and squad action in multiplayer andThe Nintendo version will be handled by a separate developer, we're told, but all will be built on the Call of Duty 4 engine.

There has been confirmed that Call of Duty 5 is definitely in development at Treyarch. The game has doubtlessly been planned for a while and is listed in a series of Vivendis corporate documents, alongside Guitar Hero IV and new James Bond and Tony Hawk games. What hasn't been confirmed though is what setting Call of Duty 5 will feature and who will be developing it.

There's no word on a date just yet, but word comes off the back of Call of Duty 4 managing to sell over 10 million copies

The first trailer for Call of Duty: World at War will be hitting the Xbox Live Marketplace this weekend. The first glimpse of the series’ return to the Second World War is only a few days away.

The trailer’s release will be a bit different than the usual. The trailer will be available for download Saturday but will then be taken down on Sunday.
