The CFO of Electronic Arts has recently made some new details on the fifth principal component of the Battlefield series, which will be released in 2016 and will renew with the atmosphere of the fourth installment.

Currently, Electronic Arts focuses on Battlefield Hardline, next to the famous FPS franchise by DICE which is developed for the occasion by Visceral Games. The title recently pushed back to next year offers a more urban environment, showing conflicts between police and terrorists.

If this change of climate might suggest a change for the next installment of the franchise, it will ultimately be nothing. Indeed, the next version of Battlefield 5 was recently confirmed for release in 2016 and it will return to a military style in the same spirit as the other episodes of the license.

The site GameSpot noted some statements made by Blake Jorgensen, CFO at EA, at the UBS Global Technology Conference 2014, held this week in the United States.

Jorgensen said that there will be a "new and fun Battlefield", stressing that it will issue a "Return to Battlefield in a military style." The CFO added that more information will be released at a second time.

Recall that the late release of this future component in 2016 stems from the chaotic launch of Battlefield 4 technically. The development studio DICE intends to take more time on this future component to avoid tarnishing its image and that of the series.
