The Spotify streaming service now integrates with BandPage. This new partnership gives hope for artists to earn extra income.

After Top Spin, it is the turn of the merchandising platform BandPage to ally with the famous Swedish society. Through this partnership, artists can commercialize new products and users will be able to buy them directly from the interface of Spotify.

In addition to t-shirts, posters and vinyl, it will be possible to sell private concerts online, bonus music in collaboration with other musicians, invitations of backstage before a concert, or private meetings. Spotify also stresses that it will not receive payment for these services. It will not impose any fees and will not receive any commission. Far from philanthropy, the company's focus is to heal its image with its musical collaborators.

BandPage integrated with Spotify

On concerns expressed by some artists in December, Spotify tries to remove any ambiguity in its compensation model. With this approach, the company has reassured markets but also musicians, as the rumor says that Spotify could go public soon. It is in this light that Swedish has signed an agreement with Top Spin in January. This agreement allowed Spotify to offer a new way to pay artists. Since then, they have the ability to sell products via the streaming service.

Only when Apple bought Beats in May, the brand has also acquired Top Spin and merchandising service of Artist Link. It is therefore likely that the agreement with Spotify have become obsolete. If it focuses its submission on the new possibilities offered by BandPage, this partnership could especially be used to replace the old things. Also note that with the arrival of new players such as Beats or Google Music, the streaming market is becoming increasingly competitive, so it makes sense that Spotify is seeking to increase its offer.
