Videocon launches 'Videocon A24' smartphone for Rs. 4699 with Android 4.2 and 4 inch display

It seems like we are now in Era of budget Jellybean 4.2 smartphones. While many high end smartphones are still running on Android 4.1, few small brands are launching Budget smartphones with Android 4.2 operating system. Few examples are like the phones that launched last week including Intex Cloud X3, Karbonn A1 Star and A5 Star, or Lava's two new phones named as Iris 356 and Iris 402. All These phones are running Android 4.2 but available before Rs. 5000/-. Today Videocon also came into compete them with the launch of "Videocon A24". Lets find out if it is better than other phones.

Videocon A24 features a 4-inch capacitive touch screen display offering 480 x 800 pixels resolutions which is surely better than few phones above in the list. It is a DUAL SIM phone running on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean. As per configuration Videocon has powered the device with 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 256 MB RAM. However it seems superior in CPU from other devices in this range with 1.2GHz but the RAM provided is still the same 256MB.

Videocon A24 comes with 3.2 Megapixel rear camera with as well as 0.3 megapixel front facing camera for making video calls. As per storage we get 512 built-in memory, that can be further expanded upto 32GB using micro SD. In terms of connectivity A24 supports basic options like 2G (EDGE), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately there is no 3G.

Videocon has powered the device with 1450 mAh battery offering maximum 4 hours of battery life in usage mode, which is obviously not good but can be expected because of affordable price. Videocon A24 is now available at the price of just Rs. 4,699/- and is available in two colors, Black and White Chrome. Lets have a look at its specifications:
