Acer Liquid S1 5.7-Inch Smartphone Announced

Acer smartphone now launches phablet type of devices by making the announcement of the Liquid S1 smartphone at Computex. This smartphone features a 5.7-inch screen and an Android enriched intended to facilitate a multi-tasking software layer uses. The launch is scheduled for around the beginning of September, at competitive prices.

Acer, which plays to its native land at Computex, unveiled Monday the Liquid S1, its first smartphone 5.7 inches (14.47 cm), which is expected to enter the market in the third quarter. The Taiwanese manufacturer is committed also in the segment of "phablets" like the ZTE Grand Memo (also 5.7 inches) or Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone types. What does it offer? Affordable hardware, coupled with an Android (version 4.2), the overall appearance is not changed, but enriched with some great functions, the most ambitious is a new approach to the management of multi-tasks within the system.

Liquid S1 configuration is built around a Mediatek quad-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and 1GB of RAM. The screen adopted for its display is of 720p or 1280 x 720 pixels. The device also has 8 GB of storage, expandable via microSD card, as well as two light sensors, back and front, respectively 8 megapixels and 2 megapixels. All the display dimensions are 163 x 83 x 9.6 mm, for a given 195 grams.

In terms of customizing the system, Acer has remained relatively modest, with an almost identical to the original version of Android 4.2 interface. a Software called "Float App" is directly inspired by the PC world as it is based on the concept of windows.

In this context, applications can not be opened in full screen mode: they then appear as windows that can be moved, enlarged and superimposed. The multi-task is called by a long press of the Home button. Each window has its own Context toolbar to reduce the application (the pass in the background), switch to full screen or close it.

To illustrate the merits of this approach, Acer offered a demonstration during which a user receives a call, taken from a headset and starts the conversation over an application for taking notes and calendar, and calculator, etc.

Acer also proposes facial recognition mode in the Liquid S1, and a device for automatic adjustment of the settings on the phone depending on the location of the user. The Liquid S1 is expected to arrive in Europe in the third quarter, with a retail price set at 329 euros.

This phone also includes 2400 mAh battery and the design looks to be in matte plastic back with metal edges, a weight of 195 grams and also supports the installation of two SIM cards, which is quite good. If you're seriously thinking about giving a chance to this new smartphone, then know that the device will start its business tour in the third quarter of the year in Belgium, Ukraine, Russia, United Kingdom and Germany with a price of 329 euros.
