Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 Smartphones launched at Rs. 25,100 and Rs. 31,490

Samsung yesterday launched their two new smartphones under their new series of Phablets called “Galaxy Mega”. The first two devices to get launched under this new series are ‘Galaxy Mega 5.8’ and ‘Galaxy Mega 6.3’. Both the devices are Phablets available at the price of Rs 25,100/- and Rs. 31,490 and will start shipping in the first week of June 2013.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8, as its name suggests, features a large 5.8 inch HD Capacitive display with 960 x 540 pixels resolutions. Obviously it is covered with Samsung Touchwiz UI. Running on latest Android 4.2 operating system Mega 5.8 is powered with 1.4 GHz dual-core processor along with 1.5GB of RAM. Seems quiet powerful compared to Galaxy Grand. There is also a 8 Megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and Auto Focus as well as 1.9 Megapixel Front facing camera. Both the device are capable to record Full HD 1080p and 720p videos respectively. As per connectivity Mega 5.8 supports 3G HSPA+21Mbps, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS+GLONASS and offers 8GB built-in storage capacity that can be expanded upto 64Gb using MicroSD Card.


Galaxy Mega 6.3 is the second device to launch under Mega series with huge 6.3 inch 6.3-inch HD capacitive display offering 1280 x 720 pixels resolutions. This is also running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system with powerful 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM. Being the elder brother of Mega 5.8 we get 16GB of built-in storage with this device along with expansion memory slot supporting upto 64GB of MicroSD Card. Camera is kept same as Mega 5.8 with 8 megapixel primary and 1.9 megapixel secondary camera allowing you to capture HD videos and high quality images. Running on 3200 mAh battery Mega 6.3 supports connectivity options such as 3G HSPA+21Mbps, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS+GLONASS, NFC and MHL.


These devices are offering larger displays and powerful configuration at lower prices. Seems like Samsung has several new strategies to capture the smartphone market.
