IRA ICON an android-based tablet will soon get launched by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and WishTel for Rs. 10,500. It’s a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch screen with 800X400 pixel resolution powered by 1.2 GHz processor running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, microSD card slot expandable up to 32GB, 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. It will come up with 4,000 mAh battery and will have built-in stereo speakers and a microphone as well.
Other than this for connection it supports voice calls (SIM slot), Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), 3G, GPS, WI-Fi, Bluetooth, mini HDMI, 3.5mm jack and USB. It will come loaded with several applications like Wish Learning, Wish Studio, Wish TV, Wish News, Wish video calling, Skype, Photo Viewer, Games , Gtalk, Google play etc.
It has been designed to attract techy youth and multi-tasking students , it will include Value added services like Video streaming, Mobile TV and various other applications under BSNL LIVE. BSNL is offering a 3G SIM and free 3G data of 2GB for two months along with it.
