The manufacturer of the Raspberry Pi, this miniature computer that costs only a few tens of dollars, announced a port of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to its platform that was underway.
It should be possible in the near future to install version 4.0 of Android on the Raspberry Pi, the famous miniature computer whose price is expected to be around $35. Its manufacturer has indeed announced that the port of this operating system was underway, with first results seem encouraging, since it is already possible to play videos and thus to exploit hardware acceleration.
To do this, however, the foundation has had to rework Raspberry in its own way for the kernel system and the associated binary VideoCore. Today, the main problem would be in support of AudioFlinger, the audio system to Android, which is still inoperative. It also aims to merge the Linux kernel modified for porting Android to the one, developing for its own distribution, Raspbian Linux.
