The future power supply Nex 1500 from EVGA will be associated with a control device and diagnostics, accessible directly from Windows, through a software called SuperNOVA, for which the manufacturer has released the first images.
EVGA, in January, unveiled its intention to embark on the power supply market. The manufacturer then presented the block with SuperNOVA NEX1500, destined to become its upscale product. Beyond a very good characteristics, the power to board a small USB connector to access diagnostic information regarding components of the block was also valuable here. EVGA has detailed the operation and capabilities of this module, which will be associated with a Windows client, dubbed SuperNOVA.
This software will be used primarily to all functions in hardware monitoring: voltages and currents that are actually delivered on each of the rails, fan speed, or overall consumption of the block. Its interface is presented as a series of dashboards, which we can customize for the list and layout.
EVGA, however, goes beyond a simple monitoring and incorporating control functions: it will allow, from the software, to switch from a single 12V rail configuration on multiple or modify the curve itself for the consumed power / speed rotation of the fan to adjust the noise at will, while defining thresholds, if gone beyond, will be noticed by an alarmed. This will also enable the Overdrive function (otherwise accessible by a physical switch) for pushing up the power to 1650W.
It remains to be seen, however, the price and launch date of this 1500W power supply, which have not been disclosed.
