Download Google Drive for iPhone and iPad, IOS devices

The online storage service Google Drive arrives on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad via a dedicated application, which is freely available now in the App Store.

Apart from launching its Chrome browser on iOS, Google released recently, an application dedicated to Google Drive on the App Store, which is an online storage service that was introduced last April. Freely available, it allows you to view the content of its virtual hard disk in the form of a tree, and to remotely open any files that can be viewed by an iPhone or iPad. To do this, we must be logically authenticated on Google Account at the first launch of the application.

We can choose to open the files listed in Drive within another application (eg Safari), or can even decide to make some files available in offline mode. These are then downloaded directly to the devices.

If the application appears similar to the form, the version of Drive dedicated to Android, the features that are revealed, to date, is less interesting. It may also regret the absence of sorting functions in the file view, even if Google prefers to emphasize the integrated search engine.

Finally, the version of Google Drive for IOS does not, so far, sends files that are stored on the phone to its virtual hard disk. To the extent that Google seems determined to invest in the Apple platform with its software and services, there is, however, likely that these gaps will be filled very soon. Editing documents offline is a new feature and until now it was possible to watch the files generated by Google Docs only, even if no Internet connection was available. But the software allows to access a storage space of 5GB free online only, where as compared to dropbox, it gives much more space.
