Colorful iGame GTX 680 Passive Edition Graphics Card Unveiled

Chinese manufacturer Colorful, has recently launched a graphics card called iGame GTX 680 Passive, topped with huge heatsinks.

If it is almost unknown in our region, Colorful has forged a reputation in Asia with custom graphics design marketed under the brand iGame. The GeForce GTX 680 will be in no doubt counted in the number: the Chinese in fact proposes here to passively cool the latest GPU from Nvidia and its 3.54 billion transistors.

Discovered by Expreview, the card takes an impressive cooling of the device in two parts. Each has seven heatpipes, 140 fins, aluminum, and covers the entire card. Placed on either side of the PCB, to communicate through a connector itself which is composed of six heat pipes. It can thus occupy the whole, as a fact, at least four PCI-Express.

The exact configuration of the card is not specified, but it is already proved that Colorful with its GTX 680 Kugan has the ability to combine components of very high-wire and PCB developed by it: so it is likely that here, the arrangement of elements for the power stage have been reviewed to optimize heat dissipation. What remains at this stage to be seen, the manufacturer does not specify if it is still able to operate the GTX 680 passive frequencies to its origin.

They have also released a card which is equipped with a metal housing with a fan in the center and not less than 26 heat pipes, out of 10 which are adjustable and can be connected to 5 additional removable radiators. But it's not finished, the fan can be disassembled in order to deposit a bucket of liquid nitrogen which is then based on the copper plate in direct contact with the GPU. Surely this card requires modular which is unfortunately a concept till now.
