Sony has recently unveiled the Xperia tipo and its variant dual SIM Xperia tipo duo smartphone, two entry-level models that comes with Ice Cream Sandwich.
Xperia tipo has a design very similar to that of Xperia miro, but however has a slightly smaller screen of 3.2 inches. It displays a definition of 480 x 320 pixels and has a 800 Mhz processor, wireless connectivity of Bluetooth and WiFi b/g/n, GPS, 512MB of RAM, a photo sensor 3.2 megapixels, a DLNA support and a storage space of 2.5 GB that can be expanded with a microSD card up to 32GB. It measures 103 x 57 x 13mm and weighs 99 grams.
The Xperia tipo dual in addition integrated a button to its side to switch from one SIM to another in seconds.
On the software side, both models have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. They are however less socially oriented like Xperia miro, and do not include enhanced interactions with Facebook. They nevertheless benefit from the overlay software from Sony, including its side, as they boarded the music recognition system of TrackID or xLoud.
The Xperia tipo and Xperia tipo Dual will be commercialized in the current Q3 2012 year in white, black, blue and red, at prices unknown.
