Since a long time rivalry is going on between the two Web giants, now Facebook took another move that can is strengthen this rivalry even further. Facebook is making a new search engine to compete with Google. The aim of this step is to make users to use new search engine for browsing other informations along with Facebook status updates, notes, images and videos. But the main aim of doing this is to avoid or restrict users from using Google for browsing information.
As per a report published by Bloomberg, there is a team led by former Google engineer Lars Rasmussen along with 24 Facebook developers working on this project. As we all know Facebook already have a search tool powered by Bing that lets to search only site users rather than web pages. Hence many feel that Facebook's new search engine cannot compete Google's search engine , as they are focusing on providing more access to content available on the social networking site and not like Google do.
Furthermore, it is also expected that Facebook may start selling keyword ads similar to Google and Bing. They may also face a huge difficulty with users privacy settings as they can just integrate the results that a user has set for public viewing.
More on this rivalry, as Google introduced Google+ a year ago to get stronger even in Social Network, now they are working on an upgrade to search engine which would build Google results more effective. Its been also heard that rather than relying on Wikipedia, Search giant will provide all those information itself..
