The Austrian Noctua company continues declination of its range with the announcement on Tuesday, of the NH-L12, a top flow type cooler with reduced dimensions, designed for small boxes and the HTPC.

Miniature version references as the NH-C14 , the NH-L12 is a top flow type cooler, which means that the suction is on the motherboard to the outside, not on a plane parallel to the latter. The advantage of this orientation course is to develop devices for cooling less high, and therefore more likely to be housed in small boxes or elongated, like you see sometimes in the universe of Living Room PC (HTPC).

Either side of the surface of dissipation can be stood by the selection of one or two fans of 92 and 120 mm respectively. Thus equipped, the NH-L12 will not exceed 93 mm in height (66 mm against if one keeps only the 92 mm position). The base is fed from the four heat pipes which are copper fins, while the rest of the structure adopts aluminum. Supplied with fixings dedicated to the latest Intel or AMD, it also comes with a mounting device reserved for Mini-ITX motherboards, behind which one can not always slide the mounting plate (backplate) which is usually required. The two fans, PWM type, operating between 300 and 1600 rpm, with a sound pressure is supposed not to exceed 22.4 dBA.

Weighing up to 680 grams when equipped with its two fans, the NH-L12 will be available in the coming days, suggested retail price of 49.90 euros.
