Alienware Aurora - a luxury gaming desktop computer with Sandy Bridge-E processors revealed

Dell today renewed its desktop computer by announcing the "Alienware Aurora". This new flagship is the first computer manufacturer's built around the platform with Sandy Bridge-E.

Proposed from 2200 euros, the "Alienware Aurora" is definitely a high-end computer.

For this price it comes with a Core i7-3930K-cooled (water cooling) processor and factory overclocked to 3.9 GHz (against 3.2 GHz). Its frequency can be pushed to 4.1 GHz which is an optional handling, as it is extra charged for 110 euros! The Core i7-3960X pushed to 4 GHz (3.3 GHz cons) is in turn charged for 400 euros or 510 euros after incrementing the multiplier in the BIOS.

Let us hope that the end user has their hands on this set! It is supported by a standard 8 GB of RAM DDR3 1600 MHz (4 x 2 GB), or 16 GB (4 x 4 GB) for 280 euros more.

The basic configuration has two CrossFireX Radeon HD 6870 1GB, but you can spend on a pair of 2 GB 6950 for 270 euros. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 and GTX 580 Ti will soon be available as other options.

Storage is assigned by a serial hard drive of 1 TB 7200 rpm / min, but 2 TB hard drives and SSD of 256 GB or 512 are available as an option, with all sorts of combinations rising to over 1000 euros. A DVD is included, a player or a Blu-ray burner are optional.

The massive box of 426 x 645 x 250 mm for 20 kg on the scale comes finally with full of LEDs and lights that can be customized by the color. The "Alienware Aurora" is now available from the Dell website here.

A fantastic Aurora ALX model update, which takes its chassis and exterior structure, including the upper panels at the top that promotes ventilation and liquid cooling system of the CPU, as well as spaces for hard drives which are easy to replace and external lighting controls makes it fabulous. It also has options for high-performance with the graphics cards designed for high definition gaming class that exceeds 1080p resolutions on a single screen and infact in 3D as well.
