Sony has unveiled two models of binoculars for recording HD video with stereo sound and digital zoom up to 20x.
Sony's DEV-3 and DEV-5 models can record video in 1080p at 60 or 24fps, using two CMOS sensor "Exmor R" that can make videos and pictures in 2D, and also 3D. The content in 3D relief can then be viewed directly through the binoculars without additional installation.
Both versions are also quite similar to the rest of the specs: 10x optical zoom lens provided by Sony G (F1.9 to F3.4) combined with optical stabilization, creation of 4 photos: 3 (7.1 megapixels) or 16:9 (5.3 megapixels), card reader SD / SDHC / SDXC / Memory Stick and HDMI output.
The top model DEV-5, however, offers some additional features, namely a geotagging function through integrated GPS chip and a 20x digital zoom.
Binoculars DEV-5 will be priced at $1,999 and the DEV-3 at $1,399, too expensive perhaps?
