On the occasion of Gamescom, Razer has unveiled the Tiamat, a new headset integrated with 7.1 Surround Sound and 10 individual drivers in order to provide highly accurate positional audio ... which has a significant cost!

Each receiver has a subwoofer and four 40 mm front, rear, side and center of 20 and 30 mm, a frequency response of 20Hz - 20,000 Hz and a sensitivity of 120dB ± 3dB @ 1kHz each, a total of 10 circuits. Everything is designed to provide an accurate positional recording from the 7.1 headset to locate sounds in space during a game.

Featuring a 3.5 mm connector for both sound to the microphone, the Tiamat 7.1 includes a control unit that adjusts each channel audio on the fly, power bass or microphone volume. The latter is also one-way, includes a noise suppressor and can be completely folded inside the headset.

Aesthetically pleasing and rather ambitious, it will be marketed in the last quarter of 2011 for a cost of 179.99 dollars, which translates as often with Razer by an equivalent amount in euros, which does not clearly puts within reach of all budgets.
