HTC Desire will not support Gingerbread update

HTC Desire shall not be entitled to an up-to-date system to its Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Taiwanese manufacturer has abandoned the idea, citing memory problems. Internal memory or RAM? The reason remains unclear, and in both cases, is not visible to users.

Our engineers have worked tirelessly in recent months to focus on the HTC Gingerbread Desire, with the aim of not compromising the
experience HTC Sense you enjoy all. Despite our best efforts, we are sorry to announce that the lack of memory of the device prevents us to update the HTC Desire to Gingerbread while maintaining the same quality experience HTC Sense.

The entire team sincerely apologizes HTC and regret having made you wait so long.
More than hundred negative comments are posted on the blog. Some do not want to believe, considering that RAM is more than enough, others point out that the internal storage memory has always been a weak point for HTC. Memory or internal memory? HTC does not, servicing perhaps unintentionally blur among users.

The HTC HD has already been updated to Gingerbread. The customer who "suggests HTC engineers to speak with the XDA developers or to hire a few to improve the ROM from HTC".

HTC confirmed the information later, admittedly with less comment, but a disappointment as visible. At issue: the ROM alternatives that are doing very well managing the Android 2.3 and overlay of HTC Sense, or the recent announcement of HTC Salsa Chaca phones, which are "very similar level and have good memory for the Gingerbread". In all cases, nobody understands, and clarification of HTC seems necessary. Many contacted them for accuracy as to the type of memory in question, and whether they intend to communicate following the outcry caused by their listing on their Facebook pages.

Re: HTC Desire will not support Gingerbread update

HTC THANKS again! and I wanted to take a SENSATION, that means it will not be updated next year. Very disappointed ... I left a little note in their article on Facebook. At the same time HTC Sense, I do not care royally, I'll wait for a rom custom and sooner or later it will be released.

PS: HTC was our favorite because that was the only major manufacturer to offer Android phones to large-scale ...
