    Apple will release a security patch for Safari and Mac OS X

    The Cupertino company launches two security fixes for Safari (Mac and Windows). Apple publishes an update to the Leopard and Snow Leopard destination.

    In a note of explanation, Apple says that the two patches for Safari are filling a gap considered significant to the extent that their use could lead to the execution of arbitrary code on a syphilitic page. The firm says that the same Webkit rendering engine is affected.

    The new version of Safari (5.0.5) is available on the official site of Apple for versions 10.5.8 and 10.6.5 for Mac OS X but also for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

    About the only update security for Mac OS X (Leopard and Snow Leopard), Apple said it had blacklisted the SSL certificates stolen in the partner of Comodo SSL certificate provider. These certificates had already been dismissed by publisher, as said while its part, Apple had conducted an update of Safari on Windows.

    Download Safari 5.0.5 for Mac and for Windows from here.

    A few neophyte questions:
    - Apple does not spell that it is ultra-critical updates or any other there?
    - Are they grouped in batches every month as in MS?
    - Are they applied automatically or must be a manual action?

    - Apple released updates regularly for safety, like any good software developer
    - They are grouped roughly every 6 months for major updates (10.6.5 -> 10.6.6 -> 10.6.7 ...).
    - Updating Apple software is available via the interface 'update software '. In the future it will be in the Mac App Store.
