Mac OS X Lion beta download for Developers Released by Apple

Apple has just put online the first beta version of Mac OS X Lion, the next update of its flagship operating system. For now for developers, it demonstrates the importance that iOS is taken in the reflection of engineers in Cupertino.

The slogan adopted by the firm leaves no room for doubt about the influence of in-house developments that were completed around the iPhone and iPad: "The power of Mac OS X. The magic of iPad", sums up Apple on the cover page dedicated to Leopard, whose output memory is to take place during the summer of 2011.

Among the features highlighted by Apple, we find the Launchpad, which from the dock, will be displayed on the screen with a range of applications installed on the machine, the way that offers the Springboard IOS. Also discussed the transition from full-screen in real applications, the introduction of new controls using the finger touch pad, or the implementation of an automatic backup mode - with management successive versions - documents. Applications also benefit from a Resume mode, which allows the user to find its software in the state where it left off after restart or update.

Mail, the software dedicated to e-mail password for its part in version 5, is introduced with a new interface that draws heavily on the mail client of the iPad. It will also inaugurate the management of the display of the conversations. The method of sharing files between machines present on the same LAN to see Airdrop renamed, and should work in an extremely simplified way. Apple also reported the establishment of a new version of FileVault, the data encryption tool for Mac OS, but also and especially the integration of Mac OS X Server directly in Leo, which gives a nice logical place where all Mac App Store launched earlier this year.

Developers registered with the appropriate program from Apple can now download and install the first beta of the future Mac OS X 10.7, code-named Lion. The others have to accept the presentation of news made by Apple, for now, focuses primarily on cosmetic and functional aspects of its new system, without going into technical details.

Re: Mac OS X Lion beta download for Developers Released by Apple

First video of Mac OS X Leo is available on YouTube. We think that the previews for the new Apple system will multiply in the coming hours. Meanwhile, this video is a quick tour of some new features: the transition from one application to another with three fingers, inertial scrolling lists inspired by IOS, Mission Control or even new versions of Mail and Safari.
