Cooler Master launches Hyper cooler Core i5-212 Plus

Hardware Manufacturer Cooler Master has its line-up for Computex released. Among the new products is also the Hyper 212 Plus / condenser, which is suitable for socket 1156 processors, known as Core i5.

The release date of Intel's Core i5 processors, the mainstream version of the Core i7 processors, is still not completely fixed, but will in any case this year. Several companies are therefore coolers for the processors and their new base. Cooler Master will be the 1156-socket among other things, the Hyper 212 Plus go to.

The Hyper 212 Plus uses the heatpipe Direct Touch technology, which means that the four heat pipes make direct contact with the IHS of the processor. The contact block is just aluminum, just like the fins. The 120mm fan is PWM controlled and run around on a speed of 600 to 2000 rotations per minute. A short test shows that the cooler is not the best performance drop, but that would be against a reasonable price is.

Except for socket LGA1156 and LGA1366 cooler is also suitable for LGA775 sockets, 939, AM2 and AM3. The cooler measures 120x97, 5x158, 5mm, weighs 626 grams and with a back plate and its screws on the motherboard mounted. This seems to me really a very good cooler for the price, there would be another of that standard Cooler Master cooling paste it delivered. Cold pasta itself is not bad but then you better pay € 5 more for AS5/OCZ Freeze and then gives you back a few degrees off.
