Hardware Configuration for the maximum score in Windows 7
Some would say that Windows 7 is an update of Windows Vista, others believe that Seven is what Vista should have been, the fact remains that some aspects of the future Microsoft operating were reviewed in depth, as the taskbar for example.
To a lesser extent, the Windows Experience Index (Windows performance) has been revised in line with technological advances experienced the field of information technology since the introduction of this tool for assessing performance (benchmark) a machine with Windows Vista.
The Windows Experience Index in Windows 7
The tool still lingers on the same components: the raw performance of processors, memory, graphics office for use on one hand and for use gourmande other as well as the hard disk are evaluated. Scores of Windows 7 now range from 1.0 to 7.9, not 1.0 to 5.9 as is the case with Windows Vista. The listing is in fact identical, the score may simply climbing 2 points in Windows 7 with the most powerful machines. Thus a machine obtaining a score of 4.2 on Vista will get roughly the same as Seven.
According to the recommendations of Microsoft, a gaming machine to score between 6.0 and 6.9 should be able to display 40 to 50 frames per second in 1280 x 1024 in most of the DirectX 10 games. Scores greater than or equal to 7.0 for their part can display video games more fluid and detailed and make editing high-definition video.
The evaluation criteria have not changed overall, with the exception of storage media, which are now more comprehensive and demanding. This explains why some users on Windows 7 a score lower than Windows Vista, since it is the smallest of the five scores is used. Their machines are not less efficient if only the notation has changed.
Which configuration to get the maximum score?
Although it does not know exactly which components are able to get the maximum score of 7.9, we can already get an idea based on indications of Engineers Windows 7.
A processor with eight cores and a large amount of fast memory, about 8GB of DDR3, seem to be necessary. A graphics card for more than 50 frames per second in the definitions above 1280 x 1024 in most of the DirectX 10 games as a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 or an ATI Radeon HD 4870, would also be required. Finally, a storage flash memory (SSD) complement the maximum Windows 7.
