| Seagate struggles with a Rearrangement of the workforce!
In the current state of affairs is impossible to say if Bill Watkins will go to another office in the company or if it has to go through in spite of his other holdings. What you can say for sure, before you leave to go to some hypothesis, is that the market welcomed the news as a negative sign by marking a decline of over 10% shares in Seagate, which are reported as a loss of 78 % on an annual basis. The decision-making power of the then almost everything in the hands of Steve Luczo, who will be responsible for addressing the economic crisis starting with a blend of organic unfortunately common to many companies. Indeed insistent voices speak for further action that could lead to a cut of 20% of staff. Then shuffled cards with regard to Seagate plans for the future, without having to now well clear how it intends to run for shelter. Some analysts, such as those of CNN, throw in some speculation about hypothetical or actual errors that Seagate could put the company in California a more difficult than the one dictated by the economic crisis alone. Let a few. A Seagate is criticized excessive interest to achieve high capacity in a 3.5-inch disks desktop, the area that was most affected by the economic crisis. This led to a problem of excessive production and storage, while other companies were able to better understand the needs of the market focuses more on the 2.5-inch disks. Not only: Seagate has always said not to fear the Solid State Drive, all focusing on high capacities. These choices that could cost dear to Seagate, primarily because of more competitive prices of these units. A difficult task awaits So what Steve Luczo. Not only have to wait to see how the largest producer of hard disk wants to tackle the crisis. |

And we believe, has delayed entry into the SSD segment of the storage area. Must now pay a great deal of money to buy a company started and its know-how. |

The hard disk solid state in three years will be more than competitive. The problem is that Seagate is not just technology for the non-volatile memory, unlike the producers of that chip until they are competitors and are now in greater quantities. The same current competitors (Samsung, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Hitachi) produce ssd. It 'a classic: the introduction of new technology and who can adapt remains, who will not attack you. Via public relations that they said not to worry about ssd is worrying for them, it means that they can not help but hope to remain anchored to the old technology for more time. I hope we manage to acquire, perhaps small, manufacturer of flash to enter the market. will continue the same trend of the last 3 years. (Seagate is now about one fifth compared to 2006-2007, so I would not have imagined) |
