In recent days we have on several occasions had the opportunity to talk about the new cpu AMD Phenom X4 II, the next generation of desktop processors specifically developed by American producer of desktop systems for the medium high. At the debut, scheduled for January 2009, AMD brings to the market in the first two versions of processor Phenom X4 II motherboards for Socket AM2 +, models II X4 Phenom 940 and Phenom X4 II 920. This explains Why can take Socket AM3 processors on Socket AM2 motherboard, with slots for memory modules only DDR2, but you can not use CPU Socket AM2 motherboards on Socket AM3 because it would not be possible with these processors use DDR3 memory modules which necessarily accompany the Socket AM3 motherboards.
The most interesting of all is that the owners of motherboards Socket AM2 and Socket AM2 + with bios updated circuitry and power suits will update your system to Socket AM3 processors, not requiring an investment in memory and motherboard.
