Penguin Computing announced today the culmination of over a decade of experience building high performance computing solutions with the introduction of the Emperor Series Clusters, a reference architecture for building and delivering turn-key, application optimized HPC clusters.

"The world of High Performance Computing 'Supercomputing' now spans systems of all sizes across many different applications and system administration skill sets. With the introduction of the Emperor Reference Architecture, we are able to more efficiently design, build and deliver systems optimized for specific customer requirements by incorporating the key ingredients that ensure a rapid and successful deployment," says Penguin Computing President and CEO, Charles Wuischpard. "In a sense, we are creating cluster 'appliances' that deliver repeatable results and are easy to use from personal supercomputers to the largest Top500 systems in the world."

Emperor Series Clusters are infinitely configurable but all include the following key features / benefits: A custom configuration tool and process to ensure that all systems are optimized for the requirements and will perform as advertised once integrated, tested and installed, A fully integrated middleware management software stack and optional application pre-load/test, Support of diskless/stateless clustering environments for rapid provisioning and security, Full in-house system testing and factory integration. Rapid delivery and on-site installation, training, and optimization.A single source of Linux and cluster support experts for the entire cluster and 3-year, top-to-bottom warranty on all components.

"Many in the HPC community have felt that such a feature set in a cluster solution could only potentially be provided by the largest broad-line suppliers and often are disappointed with the experience", said Matt Jacobs, VP of High Performance Computing, Penguin Computing. "Penguin Computing can deliver because this is our sole focus and we have spent a decade building the products, experience and expertise to guarantee results."
