XMS DDR3 memory for Intel Core i7 by Corsair

Corsair has announces the launch of its first Intel Core i7 memory solutions with two new additions to its XMS DDR3 product line:

  • TR3X6G1333C9 - a 6GB kit priced at around £209.99.
  • TR3X3G1333C9 - a 3GB kit priced at around £109.99.

Both the models supports Nehalem's tri-channel architecture and consist of three matched DDR3 SDRAM DIMMs, with each module utilising Corsair's classic heat spreader. Corsair states that both solutions have been tested extensively in X58 motherboards and are verified to operate at speeds of 1,333MHz and latencies of 9-9-9-24.

The future may be bright but the current problem is that DDR3 is still expensive when compared to quality DDR2 and only a handful of chipsets support it.

It does seem a little on the cheap side. maybe this will widen adoption of Core i7 and so bring prices a bit more mainstream.
