Vista SP1 and ICH9 SMBus Controller

This is windows vista laptop. First I faced huge problem with Service Pack 1 installation. Once I came out of that, I found a new problem and that is my USB ports not recognizing any USB drives. After some workaround I found that the problem is with Intel ICH9 controller missing driver. I thought it would be in motherboard installation disk but I dint found it there.

Later I went to Intel website and downloaded the updated driver for P35 chipset but that dint helped. I don’t know what else I should do. Can someone please tell me how to get this fixed? Thank you very much.

The problem doesn’t seems to be Vista or drivers, but it is with Service pack. Am saying this because since I too installed SP1, am just not able to use any flash drives, DVD burner or even external HDD. I’m using Asus P5K-e and in my case SMBus Controller also doesn’t seems to be working. Hope someone can post any working solution here.
